The need for reconstruction arose from the requirement to expand the capacity of the school, to save the dilapidated roof trusses of the outbuildings of the Baroque complex and to improve the unsatisfactory condition of its inner courtyard. The whole complex was built gradually, with different parts serving different purposes and surviving in different qualities. The given diversity, operational and technical, logically became the main basis of the renovation concept. In the design, the emphasis was on linking the different parts so that their historical value as a complex was not suppressed and so that the users of the school and the boarding house felt comfortable and free to use all parts of it together. This project has succeeded in breathing new life into a generous baroque complex.
