The Titul exhibition presented the best architectural graduates and bachelors. The task of the university is not only to educate, but also to spread awareness of architecture and urbanism among the broadest public, to develop a discussion on current field topics and to bring an unbiased view of urban development. The exhibition of the best final theses Titul 2022 presented projects that bring innovative solutions to transport, agricultural landscapes, sustainable community housing and much more. A curatorial selection of works created in the academic year 2021/2022 at the Faculty of Architecture of the BUT in Brno was presented as part of the Kumst Creative Cluster's birthday on September 16, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
The exhibition of student works conveys to the public the most up-to-date events in architecture and urban planning as they are considered by the rising generation of professionals who this year are leaving one of the best schools of architecture not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the world according to international rankings (QS ranking, 230).
The curatorial selection of projects was based on the evaluation of two independent juries, which in May 2022 selected the best final theses from both bachelor's and master's degrees. It was possible to obtain a variety of current topics resonating in today's society as well as original solutions to standard situations.
Historically, Brno and the Brno School of Architecture determined the direction of the Czech architectural scene in many moments, while exhibitions of works are one of the proven ways to present the progressive thinking of Brno architects. Brno will thus join other European capitals, such as Vienna or London, where exhibitions of the final works of local schools of architecture are regular cultural events with the potential to initiate a wider debate about the environment in which we live.
The exhibition provides a unique overview of what is currently moving the young generation and what is resonating among the emerging ones. In their themes, the works reflect what architecture is all about for the upcoming generation of architecture. Among the projects will appear not only work dealing with the design of new houses, but also reconstruction. The range of topics is really very rich, several projects dealing with the landscape, or even theoretical work on Japanese architecture were included in the selection.
The opening of the exhibition took place on September 16, 2022 as part of the celebration of the 2nd birthday of the Kumst development project in Brno on Údolní Street. It was possible to visit the exhibition and view the exhibited models, plans and other graphic outputs until October 6, 2022.
The event is held under the auspices of the Mayor of Brno JUDr. Markéty Vaňková and with the financial support of the city.
